The Moza R9 V2 and Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel both boast direct drive technology, with the Moza offering 9Nm of torque and the Logitech pushing it to 11Nm. Both wheels are PC-compatible, but only the Logitech supports PS5 and Xbox consoles. The Moza has a standard quick release mechanism, while the Logitech's is also standard but seems to get more praise from users.
I've seen plenty of users struggle with the Moza R9 V2's firmware updates, which often leave the base in an upgrade mode that refuses to budge. It's a frustrating experience, especially when you're eager to get back to racing. Users are reporting similar issues with overheating, but my own unit hasn't shown any significant temperature rise – maybe it's just the users who crank up the FFB too high.
The Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel has its own set of problems. Some users have reported a loud rattle inside the wheelbase itself, which is not only annoying but also makes you wonder if the quality control is on point. I've heard tales of defective wheels that turn off after three dashes on the screen – and good luck getting support from Logitech's contractors in the Philippines.
But what really gets my goat is when users have to deal with broken quick releases or pedals that refuse to work properly. The Moza R9 V2 has its share of right paddle issues, while some users have reported problems with the Logitech's pedal USB cable bending under stress. It's a pain to deal with these issues, especially when you're in the middle of a long racing session.
However, there are some redeeming qualities about both wheels. The Moza R9 V2 has received praise for its load cell pedals, which provide a more realistic driving experience. And the Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel's 11Nm torque is certainly an attractive feature – but at what cost?
For casual sim racers on a budget, the Moza R9 V2 might be a good value for money. It offers decent performance and features without breaking the bank. However, if you're serious about your racing and want top-notch quality, I'd recommend splurging on the Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel – but only if you can stomach the premium price point.
For my own money, I'd choose the Moza R9 V2 for its more affordable price tag and decent performance. But hey, I'm a cynic – what do I know? If you're in the market for a high-end sim racing wheel with no compromises, the Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel might be worth considering – but don't say I didn't warn you about the potential issues.
